Hello! I am Johanna de Vos (1989).

This blog is about text mining: automatically extracting knowledge from texts. In each blog post, I present a text mining project that I recently worked on. Most of these projects I did in courses from the Artificial Intelligence master at Radboud University. I have tried to write up each project in a way which non-specialists can understand too (feedback is always welcome :).

Apart from text mining, I’m doing a PhD in Cognitive Science at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, which will officially end at 31-12-2018 (fingers crossed that I’ll actually be done by then!). My PhD is about word learning in a second language. When it finishes, I’m hoping to turn my interest in text mining, natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning into a new job, either in industry or in academia.
